Workshops & Hafla con gli HELM a Roma! 28-29 Marzo 2015

Il gruppo HELM è composto da Ling Shien (voce, fisarmonica, flauti di legno) e Mark Bell (percussioni). Il loro repertorio è fatto da titoli originali e musica tradizionale del Mediterraneo, Medioriente, musica classica e del folklore arabo, musica classica turca e Rom, musica del Magreb e del Nordafrica. La loro assidua collaborazione con Carolena Nericcio e Fat Chance Belly Dance ha fatto sì che molti dei loro brani siano diventati “classici” della Tribal Belly Dance. Collaborano frequentemente con altre danzatrici come Mira Betz, Hannah Romanovski, Coleena Shakti e Megha Gavin. Vivono in California e vanno frequentemente in tournée per il mondo. Sono stati presenti al Roma Tribal Meeting 2010 e questa è la seconda volta che tengono workshops e concerto in Italia, ospiti del San Lo’.

“American Tribal Style® & Ritmi: per comprendere definitivamente il ritmo Malfuf!”

Con Isabel si lavoreranno alcuni movimenti dell’American Tribal Style® e con Ling Shien si studierà la struttura completa del brano “Kakore Ja”. Poi si aggiungono i cimbali e si danza insieme!

Impara a suonare i cimbali e danzare sul ritmo Sema’i, 9/8, per poi velocemente cambiare al Maqsum. Si utilizzerano dei passi che già conoscete, adattandoli a questi ritmi in modo divertente.

“Sema’i & Ritmi Dispari”

Nella prima parte si studierà il Sema’i, partendo dalle basi per arrivare all’improvvisazione, anche rapportandolo con il Jourjouna. Nella seconda parte, dopo breve pausa, si studieranno ritmi dei Balcani in 7, 9 e 11, combinandoli poi ad esempio in 25 conteggi (7, 7, 11) e 12 (5 e 7).

“Cantiamo e suoniamo insieme la canzone ‘Azar’a l’Akhdar!”

Questa canzone, originalmente della tradizione dei Fellahin (contadini) d’Egitto, è appena stata ufficialmente nominata la migliore per l’ATS®! L’annuncio è stato fatto da Carolena Nericcio durante l’ ATS Home Coming appena tenutosi a San Francisco. In questo workshop impareremo a cantare il ritornello mentre suoniamo i cimbali sul ritmo Fellahi.

You will learn to sing the refrain of ‘Azar’a l’Akhdar, a song of the Fellahin of Egypt, while playing Fellahi patterns. This song has been officially titled the best track for fast ATS® by Carolena Nericcio at the ATS Home Coming!
